Cloud 9 Services, LLC was called upon to do a CIPP (cured in place pipe) lining job in Orlando, FL. This is a pipe repair method that helps to rehabilitate the existing damaged pipeline without the need to tear into the landscape. With this particular job, there was a sinkhole depression that had formed in the asphalt of the client's parking lot. This is usually a sign that some pipeline damage has occurred beneath the surface.
We did an initial video pipe inspection to determine how extensive the damage was and from there gave our recommendation on how to fix the damages. It is always recommended to video survey the pipeline first in order to determine the amount of work you need, as you want to make sure you take care of all the damage the first time and don't pay for more than necessary. As some repair jobs can be completed in sections if the pipe damage isn't too extensive. With this particular job, our technicians determined that it would be best to line the entire length of the pipe.
CIPP Lining Process
The CIPP lining process is quite simple and can be done in just a few steps :
Our technicians cleaned the entire pipe utilizing our JetVac truck.
The pipeline is then video inspected utilizing our camera truck. This is to ensure the pipe is completely clear of debris, dirt, and anything else that could obstruct the liner installation.
A felt liner is coated in a thick layer of epoxy resin and inserted into the pipeline.
The felt liner is expanded to cover the whole length of the pipe and then cured in place utilizing a combination of heat and steam. The curing process can be done in a few hours and creates a new "pipe within a pipe."
Lastly, once the curing process is complete, the excess felt liner is cut off and the pipeline is video inspected one last time to make sure that the liner was installed properly and there are no ripples or tears.
This method boats a lifespan of 50 years and doesn't require any digging. This means the process can be completed within a day and done during normal business hours because no major landscaping is required.
