What is trenchless pipe repair?
Over the years, trenchless pipe lining has become the preferred method used to restore and rehabilitate damaged pipelines. It's renowned for using zero-dig technology to restore damaged pipelines back to normal. This saves people both time and money because the process is fast and can usually be completed within a few hours and there is no costly landscaping fees to endure because there is no digging involved. This technique is not only the most efficient, but it is also versatile and can be used to repair various types of pipeline systems. There are multiple ways to go about repairing he pipe as well using a trenchless method.
Methods of Trenchless Pipe Repair :
Cured in place pipe lining (CIPP) - This method is done by laying down an epoxy saturated liner throughout the whole length of the pipe and then curing the liner in place, thus creating a new "pipe within a pipe". This method is the most popular as it adheres to the pipe without losing width within the pipe and lasts for up to 100 years.
Internal pipe coating - This method is done by spraying a thick epoxy coating to the inside of the pipes in order to seal leaks and cracks throughout the pipeline.
Sliplining - This method is done by installing a smaller "carrier pipe" into a larger "host pipe", grouting the annular space between the two pipes and sealing the ends. This is an older method that has been widely replaced by CIPP lining.
Quicklock pipe repair - This method is done by inserting a pipe sleeve into a manhole and delivered to the damaged section. The sleeve is then mechanically compressed to the inner pipe wall and using an inflatable packer, the sleeve is expanded and permanently locked into position. This method is good if you only need certain sections of a pipe repaired.
