    Richard "Rick" A. Fender

Summary

Born in May 1953 in Orlando, Florida, Mr. Fender is licensed as a Certified Florida Contractor in six areas by the the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation : General, Plumbing, Mechanical, Marine Specialty, Commercial Pool/Spa, and Underground Utility and Excavation. These construction licenses reflect Mr. Fender's 49 years of active experience working in all areas of the construction industry from estimating, field supervision, and whole-firm management. His experience includes specialized works such as metal buildings, industrial wastewater, marine seawalls, and underground utilities in addition to more routine work on residential and commercial buildings. Mr. Fender's roles ranged from managing projects to owning and managing construction companies. Mr. Fender is current Vice President of Cloud 9 Services, Inc. and resides in Orlando on Lake Holden with his wife.

Cloud 9 has performed an extensive amount of Underground Utility Contracting. We have always been responsive to time and cost constraints with special attention to the quality of workmanship in construction and repair projects. We specialize in Underground Utility cleaning, solid waste removal, video inspection, commercial repairs, and new construction. Our bonding capacity is approximately $12,000 per project and a bonding capacity aggregate of $20,000,000. We carry out Statutory Workers Compensation Insurance as well as complete liability and Longshoreman's insurance for our work. Originally starting the company as President, now serving as Vice President in an effort to allow my wife and partner, Xi Lu the current President and majority stockholder, to utilize her skills and experience in project management and accounting to grow the business.

With my previous company, Hodgskin Outdoor Living, Inc., which I sold in November 2001, I was able to inject this work ethic into the existing business. This resulted in our growing the marine construction company from $2,000,000 in annual sales to almost $5,000,000 in 2001.

  • Managed this construction company's Service Department and handled development of the commercial marine projects.

  • Solicited, designed, estimated and project managed commercial and residential boat dock, boat houses and seawall marine projects.

  • Managed full-service maintenance department for boat houses, boat docks and seawalls.
