Life Expectancy of CIPP Pipe Lining

When you get your pipes repaired with CIPP you can expect the job to last up to 50 years. Epoxy itself can last ten to fifteen years without being cured. This process is done to preserve current pipes that have been damaged by leaks, cracks, intruding roots, and rust.

Can Epoxy Be Strengthened?

Several layers of epoxy can be added over time to strengthen the inside of the pipe. If properly maintained, the epoxy pipe can outlive the original broken pipe and become strengthened. This can make the life span of an existing pipe system last well over 100 years.

What Makes CIPP Strong?

Epoxy liner is made from a material called resin. This heat hardened material is filled into the pipe as an extremely thick liquid that covers the entirety of the liner. It is cured with steam allowing it to harden and take the shape of a pipe. There are two components to create CIPP pipe liners. Some of these materials include fiberglass cloth and polyester.
